WOW, what a superb setting! I was totally blown away by Vela Dining's 270 degree water views of Sydney Harbour and Parramatta River. I concluded that this was a great way to spend my Saturday afternoon lunch and with such an impressive location, I was very keen to see how the dining experience fared.
The Vela Dining Modern Mediterranean Menu specialises in seafood, however, also offers a wide selection of hearty meals to satisfy any craving. For entree I ordered the seared scallops with pumpkin and coriander puree and they were to die for! By far the tastiest meal of the night, yum! For mains I had the grain fed 150 day old eye fillet which sounded extremely impressive. Unfortunately after ordering the meat medium rare, it came more to the rare side and left me less than impressed. For dessert I was delighted to have a vanilla bean affogato... simple and so satisfying. The mains will set you back an average of $33.
The seafood bar comes highly recommended for pre-dinner drinks and for all those wine connoisseurs out there, this restaurant has a superb international wine list.
And if you're looking for a venue to host a wedding reception, corporate event, christmas lunch, or other special occasion Vela Dining and Bar will have you covered at 80ppl seated or 160ppl cocktail.
