El Jannah - Charcoal Chicken and Lebanese Cuisine Review

El Jannah Charcoal Chicken and Lebanese Cuisine restaurant is situated in the multicultural capital of Australia, Granville. The take away restaurant is well known for its scrumptious charcoal chicken and its legendary Garlic sauce. If you love chicken, if you love chips, and you want friendly, fast service, El Jannah Granville is a must visit for you!

To count, I have eaten at El Jannah about a dozen times in the past few months, and I live over half an hour away from it. What does that tell you?

El Jannah Charcoal Chicken restaurant serves up a host of lebanese dishes such as tabouli, falafel and hommous, but the real drawcard is the charcoaled chicken and the garlic sauce, known as toum. The El Jannah platter is a favourite amongst restaurant-goers, which consists of half a chicken, complimentary chips, lebanese pickles, toum and bread. Words cannot simply explain the taste of El Jannah’s charcoal chicken, it’s too good to be true. I suggest you lather your chicken piece in toum, with a side helping of bread and chips you will eat like a king!

Customer service at El Jannah is also a major drawcard. If you eat in you can expect your meal to be presented to you within five minutes during off peak times. Thats right. Five minutes! Employees are friendly and helpful as well.

If you aren’t willing to spend a bucket-load for high quality food, then El Jannah is your best option. Food quality is tremendous, quantity is enormous and you will leave El Jannah with plenty of change in your pocket, that’s if you can walk!

The only lowlight of El Jannah restaurant is the setting. Set on a busy Granville street the sweet, scrumptious taste of the toum and chicken is somewhat degraded by exhaust gases from passing by cars. Lines can also be too long at times, and if you choose takeaway during peak times make sure you bring a book with you.

However, these minor downsides fail to take away from the quality experience that El Jannah delivers. Do yourself a favour all you chicken lovers out there and indulge in the restaurant that will take your taste buds on a roller coaster ride of excitement. Chicken like no other. Garlic sauce like no other. A takeaway restaurant like no other.

Review/Comments: I have searched far and wide, for years, trying to find the perfect sushi and sashimi restaurant. Constantly on the look out for the freshest, most scrumptious sushi and sashimi. Look no further. Daruma Japanese Restaurant in the heart of Sydney has by far the best sushi/sashimi I have ever devoured.

Daruma Japanese Restaurant is nestled away within the little-known Prince Centre within Haymarket, directly opposite Paddy’s Market and diagonally-opposite the UTS Library. Upon entry I was greeted with some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered, customer-service is of the highest quality here and will be returning simply as a result of the stupendous level of respect shown towards the customers by the staff.

Midday, and the restaurant is alive with students, due to the high-quality, filling meals which are brilliantly priced. Whilst at night, the restaurant is a teeming with families, couples and friends enjoying a high-quality meal. Daruma is one of the better-looking restaurants I have indulged in, set on the first level of the Prince theatre, restaurant-goers are presented with an exciting view of the city surroundings. The restaurant is well-lit, with an authentic Japanese-feel, due to the array of decorations and ornaments!

On to the important stuff... the food! I admit, I am no food-expert, or critic, I am unable to cook dinner for myself without burning myself or flooding the kitchen with smoke; however, one thing I am an expert on is Sushi/Sashimi, having sampled hundreds from all over Sydney. I can tell you this. Daruma Japanese Restaurant in Sydney’s CBD has by far the best sushi/sashimi I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The rice is perfectly cooked, not too chewy, not too dry, just perfect. Whilst the seafood is as fresh as these reviews! If you are ever in town, do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and try the sushi platter! I was also lucky enough to enjoy the Chichiku (fish cake with cheese), which was an interesting dish. The Teriyaki chicken and Karaage chicken were also pleasant, whilst the seared salmon had me thinking dreaming of its tender, mouth-watering texture well into the next week! The chilli-mayo prawns was also a scrumptious dish. Overall, the food at Daruma was second-to-none.

I visited Daruma over four weeks ago and I am still smiling as a result of the wonderful experience I had. If you want the best Sushi/Sashimi in Sydney and some of the best Japanese cuisine this city has to offer at a great price, as well as the friendliest customer service you will encounter, look no further than Daruma Japanese Restaurant!
